St. ROSE OF LIMA CATHOLIC CHURCH Celebrates
70th Foundation Anniversary

The St. Rose of Lima Parish in Safford came to existence first as a Mission Church somewhere in the year 1927 under the tutelage of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Solomon. Ten years later, in December 22, 1937, through an Episcopal decree, it was finally elevated into the level of a regular Parish. (Cf. brief history in a separate page).
Today, this little Parish in the Graham County has grown (up) a lot. Our Patroness, St. Rose of Lima (Peru) has never failed interceding for her devotees. God, needless to say, has blessed us with too many (living and deceased) good priests, deacons, religious, parishioners, volunteers, guests, benefactors, and tremendous generosity from different people that made us exist and continue to grow for 70 solid years now. Because of these, in a communal act of gratitude to God and our Patron Saint, we, together with St. Martin de Porres Community in Pima, have decided to celebrate festival of thanksgiving in this month of August, the 70th Foundation Anniversary of St. Rose of Lima Parish. (Of course, a few months earlier than its actual date). Hereunder is the:

LOOKING FOR "70" AWARDEES!!!
The Parish Anniversary Committee is looking for Parishioners who are celebrating their 70th this year. So, you're an awardee if you are one of the following:
- BORN in 1937
- BAPTIZED in 1937
- MARRIED in 1937
Please bring any supporting document/s to the Parish Office now! (Deadline is August 22). All awardees must be at the at the Holy Mass on August 25, Saturday, 6:oo in the evening to be recognized and to receive the award! Hurry! For further info call the Office at 428-4920.
