Ministries

Ministries in the Catholic Church are important because they help to carry out the Church's mission, serve the faithful, and promote the good of the community. 


Liturgical ministries 

  • Sacristans: A church official who prepares the church for worship services and maintains the church's supplies
  • Altar servers: Assist the priest during Mass, which is the priest's main purpose
  • Lectors: Read the Scriptures during Mass
  • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: Share communion with the faithful
  • Music ministers: Lead the choir or sing as a cantor


Education

  • Reach out to adolescents and young adults
  • Accompany young people on their journey of faith
  • Teach gospel values like compassion, forgiveness, and acceptance
